Hi all & SXJ,

I don't think you're crazy at all. I have a similar story/plan to yours and MINE may seem crazy to some.. I'll be doing something similar to you come 1 March/1April 2009. I'll be happy to share with you some of my own research. and please feel free to share some advice if you have any!
I have a real estate job that is going very well here in Boston, Massachusetts and will be making a "move" to Sydney using a Working and Holiday Visa. I have already traveled much of Australia and fell in love with Syd in 2006. I've been planning this move for over a year....ALMOST ready. just REALLY nervous about the job market. I have plenty of friends in Sydney to give me support, but this is pretty much a solo adventure...
How is your trip planning coming along?? and what is an RSA?

Also, SOMV/Veronika, do you have any experience in gaining a good job in AU (sales/marketing, etc) with just a working holiday visa? Know anyone that has?

Matt Bos.
Hi are welcome to the crazy gang! I have decided to dedicate this thread to crazy people like us. Well it's either were nuts or the rest are???
Anyway we are very similar. I also am involved in real estate in the UK. Tough industry at the moment. Maybe we could take Sydney by storm & open an international real estate company?
You should invest in an RSA. It's basically a license for people involved in the sale, supply, provision or service of liquor. In some regions it is a must have & will also massively increase your chances of getting a bar job etc.
Must say thats about all my planning in one sentance. I find it rather exciting not knowing where i'm going & what i'm gonna do. Heard there's loads of work WA come Feb March grape picking? May just have to go and check that out.
All i know is that i'm gonna have to work as not got massive funds. But saying that intend to do the bare minimum...

Keep in touch...
Anyone wanting to maybe hook up at some point email me direct & we will keep in touch.
Steve

In perth you shouldn't have to much of a problem getting a job .... Know a couple of people who live out there and the general consensus is there are quite a few jobs to be had if you want to find them.....

Thanks for the advice divaboy. Heard anything about the employment potential in Syd?

I think Sydney will be slightly more competitive but still more then possible if you really want a job and aren't bothered what you do ....

Blogger is pretty decent, or various other blog sites for the commentary, and flicker for the photos ?

Wouldn't mind joining you, wish i could afford it right now, have a night out in Kings Cross, Sydney, some place.

What Hien said. There's a lot more to this site than just the forum. Click on "Control Panel" at the top of the screen (when you're logged in) to get to the other "personal" sections of the site.
