Thank goodness for that! The protesters have finally left!

THAI Airways have begun flying in and out of Suvarnaphumi today Wednesday 3 Dec (Thai Time!). The Airports authorities expect the place to be up and running as normal by 15 December.

This could just be a lull in the troubles since as I heard it, the Thai PM has been forced to step down (he wasn't doing a lot of good, hiding in Chiang Mai). A lot of the protestors are still angry and "have demands".

Is the King's (official) birthday on 5th or 6th this year? That should quieten things down a bit.

Hi Cyberia:

The King's birthday is 5 December and his actual b-day too. Today is also known as Father's Day. The protestors have really cooled down but said they would start again only if the next PM comes from the ruling PPP Party. Doesn't look like it though, even the MPs themselves are demanding that the new PM comes from one of the coalition parties instead of the PPP.

News Today:

Suvarnabhumi will be "open for full services including check-in and immigration" at 11am Friday, Airports of Thailand chief, Serirat Prasutanont declared in a statement.
