Asia is a great place to travel especially for photography.

One of gems in Asia is Burma, Myanmar.
I visited this place last Nov’08 and lead 10 photographers.
Every one of them was amazed by its beauty, colors, culture, landscapes, Ancient Architecture, foods, festivals and nice & friendly people.

They didn’t expect what they can see in this trip and come back with a plan to visit this country ( other sites) in future

It is a great travel photography destination that you should not miss especially.

Cheers
Stanley Kay

I cannot understand , this is no a promos. Picture speaks more than words...and I think it is rather rude
for you to delete without contact. ( no courtesy).

I'm sorry, but the forum rules are quite clear and were clearly displayed before posting. Basically we don't allow links unless they are very relevant to the post at hand. New posters get more scrutiny than long time posters. We can't treat some posts with different rules than others.

I am glad to know you have done your job to scrutinize this web but if you would to think carefully, the link I have send is an introduction to this place which I think is" best Place for photography".
If I would just to write without showng any photographs... how the fourm readers apprehend it especially when Asia might not be a familiar place.
Can you visualize the place I mentioned without looking at the place??

Look at this site of your forum... what relevant it is besides trying to promote that HDR photographer?? I wonder you have skipped it or think it is really relevant.

Have you treat this with Different Rules???

Though I am a first time poster, but I have show interests to contribute as I can see your fourm do not have much viewers and sharing that is in depth.

Cheers

Yes actually. When a member has racked up 230 posts and been active on these forums for years, we do show a lot more leniency :)

The question posted in this thread was 'what's the best place for travel photography'. You answered 'Burma'. Nearly everyone on this site could point/link to shots on other websites if they wanted to, but that's not the point.

I am surprise to hear that contributors to this topic just need to put a name of the country
So we all need to go other site or forum to search for further elaboration? :

I really hope leniency is not given for the sake of post counts without any scrutiny.
If this is a forum of Travel PHOTOGRAPHY, why photographs are not allow to be shown and formers have to run around the site to look for photos of places to travel..

Sorry, I missed the early part of the discussion, and I didn't see what was deleted. But my question would be did the link you posted contribute to this discussion ? In the above quoted thread the photos in the website link are the topic of discussion. So you can see it would be fairly important to keep it there !

Also, while I have no proof of it, the poster in the above thread does not seem to be the photographer in the link or have anything related to the site (other than visual interest). So I can't see how that can be perceived as a self promotional posting, and violation of the forum rules.

The link posted was my travel photos to Myanmar (Burma); do you think this is relevant?
I don’t like the accusation of me trying to promote myself when I just wish to share like others who also posted link (whether is their or others)
Please also note that this forum doesn't have the feature for photo attachment (am I right?); so the only way is to attached the link of my photos to this place.

Anyway, it is fine that I don’t attach the link; members here just missed the privileges to view my Travel photos.

It was quite discouraging that I can be penalized as 1st time poster. Doesn’t Travellerspoint welcome new member??

That's a pretty impossible question to answer really and it sounds to me that you are just trying to promote Nepal rather than begin a travel discussion. But sure, Nepal is probably great for photography - it's got beautiful landscapes, unique architecture, and colorful and interesting people. But so does India, Vietnam, China, Peru, Bolivia, Morocco, Kenya, Egypt.....and really any other country that you take the time to discover. No place is "the best", each place offers it's own unique thing for a photographer.

As I traveler, let our mind be more mature to see things in a wider perspective
.
This statement from you "it sounds to me that you are just trying to promote Nepal rather than begin a travel discussion" is not very constructive and helpful to the poster even if you happen to be right.

I am sure you would also wish to share with others the place you like or even the country you are living in.

I think the more important part of this discussion is to explain why you think this is a best place to go for photography and if possible with some photos (unfortunately, it might not have the feature to post photos and web link are not welcome too as it is thought to be a promotional tool).

I hope you don't mind I post this comment as I just felt that this forum can be a great place for us to share our love for travel photography with a better way of communication

cheers

It's up to every member to decide if they're discouraged or not. Now that you know the forum rules, feel free to join in the discussion.
