my boyfriend and I are arriving in perth on the 31st March and we wouldn't mind doing some good old fashioned hard work and earning good money to get us around for a while after. I have heard in the past that the mining areas have work - even cleaning etc that is well paid as the places are very remote. does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this? Or is it simply too good to be true??
There seems to be loads of us going to Perth early next year. I'm off on a solo visit on Feb 8th... I'm in the same boat as you both in that i plan to do some work then head off & spend the money!!! I had initial worries of there not being enough work but some great people on this forum recommended wine picking!!! Theres loads of it
About 3 hours south of Perth in a massive winery & the pay is fairly decent aswell. Make sure ya do wine grapes & not table grapes as you need to take a lot more care with them. Which means slower to pick which means less money!
I'm starting a facebook group for those that have or are visiting Perth! Might be a good way to find out more info and get to know others before going! I'll post the details later. Maybe bump into you guys...
