Interesting history, Hsien. Of course, it would be nice if they TOLD travellers they need to keep their disembarkation card, or train ticket. But, of course, they don't.

I'm very sure it is printed clearly on the card that you need to keep it. It's a pretty standard procedure that when the disembarkation card (or part of) is returned to you upon entry, you must keep it and present it when you leave. Singapore does the same too.

Sorry, I just remember that the free-flow entry is not possible for foreigners because they will be using different immigration clearance lanes.
