In scanning the various accomodations within Turkey, I have only come across one hotel in all of the listings that includes a personal testimonial from a satisfied guest.
This lack of specifics causes me some concern. [Some hotels are posted with "Approval Ratings" between 86% and less.] No idea what this means.
[list]My biggest concern is the reputability of the organization offering to accept reservations. [list]Who are they?
[list]What guarantees are in place that my deposit will not be lost?
[list]Will I receive written confirmation documenting my reservation?

Thanks for the comments. The system we are running at the moment is very new, but the fundamentals behind it are not.
Reservations on Travellerspoint are processed by our partner Hostelworld. They are the single-largest hostel booking service on the internet at the moment. The ratings you see are based on ratings provided by thousands of guests who have booked through their system. Unfortunately they would not open up their reviews to us. We have started taking our own reviews from people who have booked through Travellerspoint in the last few months to rectify this, but data is still sparse unfortunately.
Regarding safeguards and your deposit; if there are any issues whatsoever, then Travellerspoint will deal with it for you personally. We are a family run website and take pride in responding quickly to any customer problems. Travellerspoint processes thousands of bookings each month and the vast majority have no problems whatsoever, but there are unfortunately occasional issues that need to be dealt with and we happily take care of those on behalf of those who have booked through us.
Regarding confirmations, you will receive an email from our booking partner that you can present at the property when you arrive. You will also receive an email from us for your own reference and finally, you will be able to access a page on Travellerspoint where you can see the details of your reservation at any time.
I hope this information helps. Let me know if you have more questions!
As Peter mentioned, the ratings are based on guests that have definitely booked through the system, so they are vetted much more than for example ratings and reviews you'd see on other sites. The system on the back end powers bookings for hundreds of thousands of rooms per month (that is no exaggeration either!) and is the largest of its kind.
Regarding your deposit and booking fee. I dealt with the reservations myself for a long time and have always prided in happily having these costs refunded in the unlikely event of something going wrong. Naturally this wouldn't apply in cases where someone just changes their mind about travelling, but in cases where someone at a hotel or hostel has made a mistake when updating their availability for example, we get them to refund (or else have the property removed from the system and refund out of our own pocket).
I've used the system myself dozens of times and never had a problem. Actually, earlier this year I had a booking for a hostel where they had entered an incorrect room rate (60% of the real price) and the hostel was happy to just honour the booking at that rate. That's the only problem I've ever had and obviously paying 60% of the regular rate wasn't really a problem
