The Christmas atmosphere is growing in Hanoi. Though the city does not have big Christmas pine trees, small plastic ones, with flickering lights, are enough to create the X’mas mood.
For most of Hanoians, Christmas does not have religious meaning, but is a chance for entertainment. However, hotels that host foreign travelers are decorated very nicely in the Christmas style.
Walking through major streets in the capital city, travelers can feel the atmosphere of Christmas through plastic pine rounds stuck to doors and snow painted on glass doors. The feeling is stronger in shopping malls, like Parkson and Vincom.
At box offices, plastic pine trees have been put up. This year only one movie about Christmas (Four Christmases) will be introduced at Hanoi’s cinemas. The film will be released on December 19.
