Okay, so I'm fairly new to this site (a little over a month), but I probably should have made my self-introduction a bit earlier. Better late than never, though, right?
Anyway, hi all! I'm glad this site exists. I'm a 26 year old female who isn't really doing the whole career thing yet (and hopefully never will--I want to be a writer for a living). I'm from the States, graduated from college, worked in Japan for two years (my current favorite country), lived in Wisconsin for a year after that, very randomly, and now I'm trying to figure out what to do next.
My goal for 2009 is to make a lot of new, life-long friends and hopefully bump into people kinda like me who find they can't settle down yet. My problem is that nearly all of my friends from high school and college are either married now and getting ready for the kid thing or they're enjoying fantastic jobs which they don't have any interest in leaving just to accompany me as I wander (and I don't blame them).
While I love traveling and consider myself adventurous, it is always more fun to do it with other people. I'm hoping to go to Australia this year and do the working holiday visa thing so I can make money if I need to while there, then I'm hoping to hit up some other countries as well (and I'd also love to get back to Japan for a bit). There are a couple of us playing with some ideas right now, so feel free to join in (in the Travel Companion forum, under the thread, "Help me with the Great Adventure" or something like that).
Anyway, I'd love to hear from everyone, and I look forward to hopefully making connections with some of you. More about me in my profile. I'm normal, I promise. And I tend to get along with everyone (unless you went to University of Michigan. Haha. J/k...)
