I agree, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it 'cause I'm a bit of a Danny Boyle cynic (thought Sunshine was awful). But it was a lively, original and enjoyable production worthy of the acclaim.

We went to see this last night & well whilst l agree some of the acting was excellent considering the age and experience of the actors, but l wasnt as blown away as l thought l was going to be, dont know maybe because of all the hype surrounding it.

I enjoyed it yes but l wouldnt go as far as saying it was an amazing film though. Then again l was rushed from work to make the start of the film, l didnt even have time to change out of my work clothes before going to the movie theatre, so perhaps l wasnt in the right frame of mind

You may have hit on something. When I saw 'Slumdog' in Dec, I knew nothing about the film, no expectations. I got swept up in the story of Jamal, Salim & Latika and went for the ride. I laughed, cried, and really cared what happened to them. Loved the movie and said so back in Dec. Then 'Slumdog' started winning awards and was then nominated for best picture by the Academy Awards. You had very high expectations and it did not blow you away. That's fair. Perhaps the rush to get there on time did factor into your state of mind. If you had gone on your day off, just looking to be entertained, you might have had a different experience.

And the winner is......SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE! Boy, was watching the Academy Awards fun this year. I loved this movie when I first in saw it in Dec. then went back a second time and enjoyed it again. Great story, great music, just a memorable film. Winning the top award should bring many new fans to see this remarkable movie.

I guess it it will be amazing for all the kids winning the awards now too...deservedly.
