Just landed up in this amazing traveller's forum. I live in Zurich, Switzerland.
I want to visit Italy, Spain(Barcelona), Netherlands, France in early February for 12 days. I am interested in night life, beaches, shopping, culture in villages in these countries.
I know that 12 days are very less but I have only these vacations..I could take planes to save the time but primarily I want to use trains.
Could some body please suggest what places should I visit and also in according to the weather too because my dates are around 10 feb.
You're in Switzerland! It's basically a stone's throw from these countries! I think you should take it slower and just visit one country, you could probably do little bits of Italy/France on weekend trips (coming from Australia I'm so jealous of this!).
Given the weather and how close you are to other countries - I think you should spend all 12 days in Spain? Here you could have nightlife Barcelona obviously, then go to Seville and Granada (beautiful and cultured places with warmer weather). Perhaps choose a small town/village or 2 inbetween - Maybe others can help you with this.
The Netherlands is the other option, where 12 days would be a good time to soak up this country, but it may be a bit colder
It'll be very hard to fit in a lot of culture/villages if you fit in what you have there as it'd be more like a whirlwind tour through the main city hubs and you'll spend a lot more time on trains/busses/stations etc.
