I'm travelling from australia to canada to work this ski season, and although i have 90 days travel insurance with my visa card, i need insurance for the rest of my time overseas.
I was wondering what companies anyone else has gone through, and how much you should expect to pay. There is so much fine print, and i dont want to fork out the hexy prices travel agents charge...so if any aussies who are doing a similar thing to me and have advice on what sort of insurance i should get, it would be much appreciated!
I've used World Nomads a few times and been pretty happy with them. Not sure what they cover related to skiing though. (www.worldnomads.com.au) The prices are good and from what I read of the coverage it looks sufficient.
We got our travel insurance through the flight centre. after alot of footwork and reading and price biding we eneded up paying round $1100 for a full years insurance. but basically that covers everything. there is nothing we can do, hurt, wreck or partake in that isnt covered. we figured we are spending so much on our trip the cover is worth it. imagine ur in ur first couple of weeks OS you got sick or injured??? they are under no obligation to treat you in the US or canada if u dont have insurance. and then when they do the bills can be massive. i just figure "prevention is better than cure" so to speak
i think ours was with Cover Plus.
