Ok,
I broke the world record for flagging one's post as spam the same minute as the post. That was the first of that person. After flagging down, I could imagine that he/she is not able to post for a while right? That would make sense to me but unfortunately I saw 4 posts more afterwards of he/she, all with spam and some under review, other with the - snip - sign.
How come?

Two posts need to be flagged before the spammer can't post anymore, and that restriction is gone once a moderator/admin has taken action on the post. I'm assuming this is about sophie0028? If so, I think what happened is that (some of?) the spam was removed too swiftly by whoever moderated, after which the restriction was removed (or maybe you only flagged one of the posts, and there never was a restriction in the first place), and so the spammer could continue. I then flagged the two posts which were newly added after the snipping had occurred and (once more?) brought it to a halt.

Lol.

Just a bit of background in why it requires 2 posts to be flagged instead of 1. We have cases where a post is flagged for being duplicate content for example and it's a bit hard to disallow all other posts just solely based on that, even if it is only ever for a few hours at most.

It's also happened before that I moderated too quickly and the spammer could keep on posting. We've somewhat blocked that off now in cases where it's one of the admin that catch a spammer as when we inactivate them they are now also auto logged out of the site and can't log back in. In the past, they could still keep posting even though they were inactivated as long as their session didn't expire which was obviously weird!

No, you didn't break it. You were only matching it -- I've done that countless times! Okay, just a few times. And I'm sure we're not the only ones who's done that. :)

How... how's that possible? Did you get help from Hiro Nakamura?!

I'm guilty...
I had 3 posts by sophie0028 in my forums - only one being flagged, by Michael, as spam. Being a quick little bunny - though the one had been flagged for over an hour at that time - I edited the posts, taking out the promo links. I can't speak for her others. My guess is only the one was flagged (at least at that time) so the restriction wasn't in place.

Isa now runs away before she causes more trouble...
