Apoligies for posting on the main board, but I asked a question in the main thread a while ago and no one got back to me :(

I am arriving in Bangkok and travelling by land down to Singapore. I intend to spend the full 30 days (I believe this is the max?) in Thailand before travelling Malaysia and Singapore. How do officials know I have no broken the 30 day visa? I take it my passport will get stamped at BKK and it will get stamped at the border where they will see the date that I entered the country?

Thanks in advance.

I am so excited about visiting Bangkok!! Hopefully meet some like-minded travellers along the way :)

Yeah, when you arrive at Bangkok airport you get a stamp in your passport saying when you arrived. With the 60 day visa they also put the date that you have to leave by, so I presume it's the same with the 30 day visa.

Yeah... Bangkok is a terrific place, so dont miss out. Hang out around the Khao Sarn Road and nearby Soi Rambutree areas and you'll sure find some company.

Whatever you do, dont overstay your 30 day visa on arrival as the overstay fine is 500baht a day.
