Japan - 1st week Intinerary

I'm planning a 3 week holiday in Japan. I've drawn up the 1st week intinerary. Am I too ambitious or crazy? Comments, freedback, criticism are welcome

Feb 8: Arrive Japan, sleep Tokyo
Feb 9: Kamazawa
Feb 10: Takayama
Feb 11: Atami (Visit friend and stay at their home)
Feb 12: Nikko
Feb 13: Tokyo/Shinjuku
Feb 14: Shinjuku/ go to Saitama to see concert
Feb 15: Shinjuku/ go to Saitama to see concert

I personally prefer to spend a few days in each place to get a proper feel for it and also relax a bit so I would maybe do a bit less during the first few days if I was planning it to suit my personal taste, but it depends what sort of holiday you want.

And if you are planning a holiday with a lot of traveling involved then Japan is the place to do it cos the trains are so excellent. And if you're getting the Japan Rail pass before you arrive then obviously all the traveling won't affect your budget.

Are you planning on heading down to Kyoto later in the trip? Just cos Kyoto was my favourite place in Japan so I would totally recommend it. And also Hiroshima was really interesting as well.
