I say get away from the whole YHA thing. You want to go to a place called The Palms. it's a house on hughes street in king's cross. When I was there it was an absolute dump, and there were no lockers or anything but that was easily the best hostel I stayed at in all of australia.

the people that stay there are long-term and great friends with each other. so much fun. I knew a guy who lived in sydney and worked as an engineer but he stayed there because he enjoyed the people so much

but Glebe does have a cool YHA

Hi All

I have been reading the posts and seems alot of you are arriving in Sydney in Feb. I land in Sydney on 9th Feb and looking at staying at 'Wake Up' which seems pretty good from the reviews so thought I'd book the first couple of nights there! This is my first time travelling alone and would be cool to chat to people who are going to be in Sydney around the same time, if you fancy a chat then drop me a message!

For what it's worth, if you book a hostel (such as Wake Up!) through travellerspoint, you'll be provided with the option to share the information that you're staying there with other people who're booking for overlapping dates; so that they can then contact you and arrange maybe meeting up.

*looks back through the thread* Heh, I see that Sam mentioned the same information before. Sorry for being redundant.
