Where would you recommend a couple of pretty poor students to go in Europe in August, or September?

We're looking for somewhere pretty hot. Not too fussed about nightlife. We're just up for a bit of adventure. Something fun. We'd be up for a bit of sightseeing, culture absorbing, and maybe something a bit more adrenaline packed (a nearby beach would be good too!). We're up for staying in a clean hostel, and are not really fussed about needing somewhere to go out and get plastered every night!

Tarifa is an option, as I've done a bit of kitesurfing before. Is there anywhere similar to Newquay in Cornwall, only with better weather, and places to hire surfboards, as this would be awesome! I'm not sure if there's anywhere in Croatia or Slovenia that fits the bill as these are two places I've wanted to go to for a while...

We'll only be away for 7-10 days as we don't have much finances available!!

or if you've any other ideas about how we can earn some cash while travelling (I'd hate to be a rep though!) that would be great :)

Thanks!

What about Turkey? Istanbul is a great city, and Cappadocia is absolutely awesome. On the west coast there are plenty of activity-filled tours from sailing to cycling to whitewater-rafting.

I'd go to Croatia - beautiful country, not overly expensive and very hot in summer. I highly recommend the island of Cres, more specifically Martinscica. It's a beautiful small town with a really nice camp ground, several nice bars, good food, great rocky beaches etc.

Hope this helps,

In August Italy's a party! 15th of August is a sacred day to every Italian, no one stays at home! especially in the south, where apart from enjoying the seaside, the continue to party on the beach until the sun rises!

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]
