NZ & OZ May to September - where first?
I am planning to do 6 weeks in NZ and about 10-12 weeks in OZ I have 2 options - I fly from Bangkok into Sydney mid May - that date is fixed - Can't be any earlier
Either I could...
Spend 12w in OZ ie mid May to early Aug then 6w in NZ early Aug to mid Sep
or 6w in NZ mid May to late June and 12 in OZ early July to Late Sep
What do you think would be best weather wise? I know I am missing the summer but it can't be helped - but out of those 2 options is there much between them?
A Sydney winter is a bit like a UK summer, NZ is going to be a fair bit colder, unless you go up to queesland then you won't be having a major sun filled holiday over those dates no matter if you go OZ or NZ first.
Hi if you head to the Northern Territory the weather is a lot better, You can head to Darwin for a Tropical feel approx 31 C degrees quite warm for the winter there is a lot of work opportunities in Darwin or you could head to Central Australia, Alice Springs or Ayers Rock the temperature there is also warm about 25 C degrees a couple of good northern territory websites to look at are http://www.territorydiscoveries.com/ or http://en.travelnt.com/ that have a lot of Ideas for tours accomodation etc.
also the lonely planet would give good ideas on where to go.
