Does anyone recently obtain a 60 days tourist visa from KL China Embassy?

I am heading down to KL to get the chinese embassy in mid Feb. Check with the travel agency in Penang 2 days ago and they said the travel agency can only get 30 days visa.

Anyone know if China still issuing 60 days visa for Malaysian? I have friends get that before Olympics last year. If the answer is no then I might as well save the transport fee and ask the travel agency to send for me.

Any helps are appreciated!

Hi Tham,

I'm not sure about what was the case before the olympics, but the tourist visa has always been 30 days (that applies for all nationalities). I have just checked Chinese embassy website, the specifications updated during Sept 2008 also states that the tourist visa goes for 30 days. This new stat was updated after the olympics so I guess it applies at the moment.

It does say that if you have a good reason, the embassy may extend your stay. I guess it's up to you then, if you're feeling lucky you might head up to KL and hope for an extension.

What lzl said is right. The visa has always been 30 days. But there's a clause which says exception may be allowed. There's no information, though, on how to get the approval.

Quoting Chinese Embassy, Kuala Lumpur

Usually, the validity of a single Entry is 3 months and the validity of a double entry visa is 6 months from the date of issuance. Unless specified on the application form and approved by the consular officer, the duration of stay is 30 days.
