Hi, my husband and I are starting our South American adventures flying into Carnival in Salvador on Feb 22nd, 2009. We're having some trouble finding accommodation. We're easy going - ie would love a room, but dont mind sleeping on someone's couch/floor... just so long as we're able to check out all the action of carnival.
We then head off towards Rio, at this point taking 8 days to get there and stopping at Illheus, Porto Seguro, and Trancoso. After 5 days in Rio, we'll continue down the coast to Isla Grande, Florianopolis, Curitiba and onto Iguazu. If anyone has any tips/advice/recommendations re this part of the world, would love to hear from you.
I'm hoping for great food, drinks, beaches, surf, cool architecture & good times.
