Hi , I am hoping to tour the west coast of America, from LA to SF, on an organised coach tour, . Could anyone advise me what clothes to take, weather, places to visit, how to eat cheaply. I will be travelling alone.
Thanks a lot

Well, when are you going?

Assuming spring or summer I'd make sure I brought along a light jacket and sweater and some layered clothing. Southern California weather is pretty consistent in summer, 75-95 F., but San Francisco can be brutal, even in July. Mark Twain once said, "The coldest winter I ever experienced was a summer a San Francisco."

As for things to do, those coach tours can keep you pretty busy, it all depends on your interests.

Best,

Cheap Guy

Calif is extremely casual (jeans/shorts and t-shirts). Burgers at In-N-Out, McDonalds, Burger King, Tacos, Pizza slices, and fries everywhere. Best food in San Francisco. Don't waste a great deal of time in LA - head down to San Diego or go to Vegas. You'll love San Francisco - the Paris of N. America. Don't bring many clothes since they're cheap here and shopping/ pretty good selection.
