Geramny (Berlin)

Hi

Me and my friend have just decided that we are going to go to Berlin in Germany in March.. Gonna stay 3 night will cost £178 each for the flights from england and 3 nights accomodation which i thought was really good. I was wondering if anyone knew how much going out is over there?

How much is a pint?

An average meal?

taxis from the airport to central Berlin?

178 quid for a trip to Berlin? Woah, I hope that includes 3-star or 4-star accomodation and breakfast, otherwise it is a lousy deal. Flights from London or Manchester to Berlin can be had for 50 GBP return and a night in a hostel bed is approx. 20 EUR.

Berlin is still pretty cheap compared to London or Paris, it is possible to get a decent meal for 15 EUR excluding drinks.

Taxi from the airport is not very practical, Berlin is very spread out. Depending on where you are going you can easily pay 30+ EUR for the ride. It is much better to take the bus or the S-Bahn to your destination, it is only 2.10 EUR per person from Tegel and 2.80 EUR from Schoenefeld for the ride.

I just got back from Berlin there. It's such a great city! You'll have a great time. Beers can cost from €1.50 (kebab shop) to about €4.50 (TV tower in Alexanderplatz), depending where you buy, but in most bars they're about €3.

As for eating, a good meal in a good restaurant cost us from about €9 to say €13 each w/o drinks. You gotta buy a wurst from one of the guys in the street, a currywurst and a kebap. Berlin is famous for them and perfect after a few tasty beers.

Go to Oranienburger Str. for some good bars or go find 'Delicious Donuts' near Hackescher Markt. Matrix is a great club and if you have time go find Panorama or Caseopiea (unfortunately we didn't.)
