Really good to see such a helpful site! Me and my boyfriend are setting out on our
RTW adventure next month after what seems to have been years of dreaming about
it! We didn't think it was going to be possible as we bought our first house two years
ago but after looking into all our options we decided to keep the house and rent it out
while we're away.
Our first stop is Las Vegas where we're only stopping for a few days (think it will be
too surreal to stop any longer!). We'd like to see the Grand Canyon so any
suggestions of transport from Las Vegas would be much appreciated. We're then
going to San Francisco (probably overland but not sure yet, anywhere in between
that anyone has been or could recommend stopping at?). Then travelling overland
(possibly hiring a car) to LA. We're planning on doing all this in 3 weeks does anyone
know if thats a reasonable amount of time to allow?
From LA we're flying to the cook islands (raratonga) then to Fiji. Staying in each of
these places for 10 days each. New Zealand is next and we're staying there for
around 5 weeks. We've booked up for the Kiwi Experience coach tour, has anyone
been on this? We've heard mixed stories about it. From Auckland we're flying into
Perth as ive got relatives there which is very handy indeed! Our actual time in Oz is
pretty open to change depending on how it goes when we get there but we both want
to work so that we can stay out there for as long as poss.
We're both graphic designers so would appreciate any advice on how easy it is to get
temporary work in design over there and any helpful links? I also would like to do
some riding (horses) while im there so any advice would be good. It would be really
interesting to hear from anyone whos been to these places ....
