We've just completed a bit of a facelift for the site. A bit of a nip and tuck. Nothing drastic, but you should notice some nice changes in the forum and accommodation pages in particular.
You can now jump between forums easier, subscribe to an RSS feed and search from within any of the forums for posts from that forum.
We've made some serious improvements to the accommodation area, where you will now find several more languages supported with a simplified and elegant layout to boot.
As always, if there are any problems you find, please let us know so we can get them fixed as soon as possible.
Specifically if your native language happens to be Italian, German, Spanish or French, let us know how the translations look in the accommodation area. We used a translating company for most of it but would love to hear your feedback. You can pop me a message direct or use the email address in the Contact link at the bottom of the page.....
I found a bug. (any prize for that? )
In the message centre, when I hit the send button, and my message body was over 10,000 characters, it gave me an error message. That page was misaligned.
Wow, that's pretty impressive finding that one so quick!
Haha, Sam, not at all. I've actually found a couple of others before the site went live. Now, if only I can read Italian, German, and Spanish.
Hey, Peter, still not allowing those special characters (asterisks, square brackets, caps, percent, ...) in this revamped site, eh? Is ColdFusion really so cold towards these characters? (no pun intended) I don't think they will pose any security threat to your forums.
I sort of just clicked on the first topic, so I hope I chose the one about all the changes, including the colors. You are obviously not aware of this, but my sister, who lives in the same house as me, is a "dental assistant" and has mint green uniforms much the same color as the bars on the tops of the forum pages! So that is, unfortunately , my complaint. (In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, a dental assistant is the person who, at a regular dental checkup here in North America, especially, cleans your teeth with instruments and educates you about oral hygiene. He/she is one notch down from a dental hygienist, who you are probably (more) familiar with ) I love having more grey, though and the outline around, and the added sharpness (that I can't quite describe because I can't quite put my finger on it) to the forums. I just noticed the time at the top, by the date, which I just noticed is quite the conscientious touch!
BTW, what Hien mentioned about extra characters: I think that perhaps a dash or a hyphen might be a nice thing to have, and quite harmless (no one will be bolding like mad with it!).
