Hi Tam,

I've flown Ryanair a couple of times and each time they've weighed the baggage. Don't think I've ever tried not having my checked in baggage weighed. But hand luggage they didn't weigh last time - which was only a couple of weeks ago, so in theory you could have a lot more than the allowed 10 kg hand luggage.

Guess I'd take a chance and stick in a bit more in my hand luggage and see if it works, otherwise just pay the 7€ a kg ;)

Easy Jet haven't got as strict regulations as Ryanair, I guess Ryanair might take up the Easy Jet regulations as well. Just a guess, nothing I know. But I've heard that Easy Jet saves quite a bit on baggage handling now they've eased their rules on hand luggage.

enjoy ur trip

as with most things, guess it depends on the person on the other end of the counter!!

Belt where you put your luggage on at checkin has a scale in it so don't expect them not to see it.

Hi

it may not be as bad as you expect.

They virtually never weigh hand luggage (you can hide it behing the check in counter and say none if they ask ?). So if you put heavy items into hand luggage it could go OK, except for the sore arm.

Also, a couple of times they have told me that I was slightly over, but never charged me.

I've noticed that people who check in late seem to have more trouble.

Bonne chance

Peter

That's great Tamar,

I don't normally travel with that heavy luggage, only a couple of times so far, from Indonesia and once from the Philippines. In Manila they were quite keen, but somehow I managed to get away with it, a lot of other people were charged quiet big amounts for overweight.

see you around
