Travel Forums North America San Francisco bars

I was in San Francisco 5 years ago and managed to find a little bar near Union Square. It was just a bar on a corner and had a couple of 8ball tables and not much else. Next to it was a restaurant and they had an arrangement where you could order the food from next door and eat it in the bar.
I am going back in April and am not sure if I could find the place again.
Could anyone help me out with a name??
Cheers

I think you're talking about that place on Geary Street that serves take-out fish & chips from the place on Larkin Street? Is that it? I lived in that neighborhood (the infamous Tenderloin) for several years and would walk past it several times a day. Sorry, but I can't tell you the name offhand. I've never been inside the place. It's fairly well known by locals - you might ask on the San Francisco edition of Craigslist - http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/

It just came to me, it's the:

EDINBURGH CASTLE PUB
950 GEARY ST
SAN FRANCISCO, USA
415.885.4074
OPEN 5pm - 2am, daily
fish and chips served til 11pm

This is a bar we've visited several times with locals. In the past on Friday and Saturday nights, the place had a bagpiper come in and serenade the customers. Great fun in a tough neighborhood.
