We are currently in Bangkok and need to get Lonely Planet India for our next and final part of our RTW trip.
Money is getting tight and we wanted to find out if it is possible to get any "copy" Lonely Planet books in Bangkok. Having been to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos we were able to get really cheap Lonely Planet "copies" in these countries.
If we can't get the book from Bangkok then do you know if we can get these books in India?
Thanks very much!
Head to Soi Rambuttri (near to Khao San Road) as there are several second hand book stalls in that area, where travellers buy and swap books so you may find there are some Lonely Planet books there.
I didn't see any copy LP books in Bangkok, only Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam as you mentioned.
Yup, head to Kao San Road and Rambuttri. Between the two streets, and a few others that run parallel you will see a number of second hand book shops and countless roadside stall selling books. Travel Guides, mostly LPs, are a big seller for them and you'll find new ones, second hand ones, and loads of copies. I would very surprised if you can't pick up an Indian one.
In India I know you can find LP's in Parahganj in Delhi.
