Fruitpicking work in Queensland

Hello,

recently arrived in Brisbane to find that the temp office work has dried up a bit, so hopefully in the next few weeks, going to hit the road and try find some seasonal work etc. Just wondering does anybody have any tips for areas to go north from Brisbane. What I am looking for is somewhere where you can earn some decent money and also where there are alot of Backpackers to have good nights out with.

I believe fruit picking isn't as easy to find as it once was ....

you have a heap of towns running from north of Brisbane right up to just south of Cairns ...

i worked in a small town called 'Cardwell' ... real chilled mellow vibe, perfect to save the old $$$ for hitting the road, i stayed @ a hostel who found fruit picking work for you - i can send you there number if you like - they were super helpfull and like i say the place was chill.

if not Cardwell then try towns like Ayr, Bundaberg, Tully etc ... i couldnt tell you how easy it is to get work @ this time of year as i was there in June/July of last year ... but no harm in callling and seeing whats up.
