VA to WA

why hello, i am brand new. its not gunna be for a while but im heading to VA for a couple months and really want to go to seattle. i need some advice on whats the best/cheapest way to get there? i know they're super far apart but i still want to go. so whats best, im not bothered about stopping along the way in certain places, i just need to get there so what- car,plane,a mixer of transport? and how much would a flight roughly be coz i aint got no clue? thank you random beings.

Good morning! I hope you enjoy your visit to Virginia, and I hope you will also spend some time in my town, Washington, DC. Anyway, best, cheapest way to get to Seattle is on Southwest Airlines from the Baltimore/Washington Airport. I am not sure, but I bet if you bought your ticket two months in advance you could get a round trip for $350 including taxes? Have fun in Seattle, it is a great city!

Also consider Alaska Airlines which has non-stop 737 service between DCA (Reagan National) and SEA-Seattle-Tacoma. Their fares have been competitve on this route. You can also fly out of Dulles on the Virginia side but you'll connect through LAX then up to SEA which will add several hours to your travel day.

I agree that both of the listed airlines, above, would be the best choices on the route. Often Alaska will have good deals at the last minute if you book on www.alaskaair.com - look for the promotions. If you want only one-way, Southwest could probably give you a better deal, and their website is the very best in the industry. Alaska would be the more comfortable of the two airlines. Be sure to come see us in Portland, only a 3 hour train trip from Seattle. Portland is a very mellow town!
