hey all i was just wondering if i could get a lil advice please,

im thinkning of doing this itinerary:

Thailand (2 weeks)--Vietnam(2weeks)--Japan(1week)--OZ(at least 1 month)--NZ(1 month)--USA( 1 maybe 2 months also heading up to canada)--Mexico(2 weeks)--South America (2 weeks, ideally to do the inca trail in this time including time to get used to the altitude)

has anyone done or have any advice on when the best imeto leave the uk would be so i can try an get the best weather from all of these places because i really dont want to end up doing the inca trail in their winter lol.

also i prob wont be departing untill 2010 as me and my gf have to save up the money (how much do you think would be the reccomended amount?

Thanks all

Oz NZ and USA are expensive, if money is tight spend more time in SE Asia.

Unless you got friends and family in NZ 1 month seems a little bit too much for this relatively small country, especially compared to the fact that you only want to spend 2 weeks in South America.

With an itinerary set out in the way you have got yours you would have to encounter bad weather in large areas of your trip because you are going from the Northern Hemisphere - Southern-Northern-Southern-Northern over such a short length of time meaning you would not be in areas where the great weather is for long.

If you went from UK-US-Central/South America-NZ-AUS-ASIA-UK it would be possible to get better weather (assuming you like warm weather). Leave UK in June and be in the US and Canada for June/July then down to Mexico and Peru in the August section (I'd allow more time in South America to see more of a very interesting continent). Then after that you could head across to New Zealand for September when the weather should be a bit nicer. Then head across to Australia where the weather should be warming up down in the southern parts and the northern bit should still have nice weather. Then you'd head up to Thailand, Vietnam and Japan section which is probably not the ideal time to go and then back to the UK in time for the miserable weather. If you did it that way at least you would get reasonable to good weather in the places you plan to spend the most time.

Ok yea that makes sense about doing it the other way round. i think im gonna drop japan and poss mexico and instead do something like:

South Africa (3 Weeks)--Central US (2months)--South America (1 month including some places like belize an places around there)--NZ(3weeks)--OZ (2 months)--Vietnam(2weeks)--Thailand (2weeks)---uk (Home)

Im only doing 2 weeks in thailand because i have been there many times before, but my gf wants to see the north so thats why were doing it.

if anyone has any suggestions about what to do in any of these places please let me know in south africa i plan to do some shark cage diving and bungee jumping and thats near enough all i have thought about so far. i mean i have had loads of thoughts about where to travel too but any advice would be amazing!!!

also with south america m gf is a bit paranoid about how safe it is has anyone got any info?

Cheers all
