Hi all,
I just want to share with you my last experience in Morocco. It was amazing!
We visited first of all Marrakech and then we rented a 4x4 because we wished absolutely to go to the desert and that was our best idea. We passed through the majestic Atlas Mountains over 2260m, gorgeous! Then we head straight to the Dades valley, I have no words to describe how impressive are all these canyons. After the Dades we continue to the Todra Gorges...these mountains were like huge cliffs, people and even the goats were climbing up there!!!
Just after the Todra Gorges we head to the grandeur and calm of the Sahara desert/Merzouga. The feelings you can have there are indescribable...the sky plenty of stars, you feel you can touch them; the red/orange sand of the dunes is involving you all the time. We finished our trip coming back to Marrakech passing by the Draa valley (once again you discover one of the 1000 treasures of this country) the city where we started and we have the sensation that we lived a dream!!!!

I recommend you definitely to book one of these routes.

It's a great trip.

But (in summer at least) you can do it in a normal car.

If you have a 4x4, follow the old route of the Tiz n Tishka over the Atlas beyond Telouet (part of this route is a little technical and you do need to know how to use a 4x4).

After that I prefer to go via Agdz and Nkob, as the gorges tend to be jammed with buses these days.

When you get to Merzouga, get out into the dunes; again, you need to know how to drive in sand. If you don't, take a competent local with you - and listen to him carefully!
