Hello !

We (2 people) will be in holidays in Brazil from mid novembre (arrival in RIO) to the end of december (departure from Salvador). We are used to travel as indepedant travellers.
We need advice about several subjects :
1- accomodations (mid range), especially for RIO and Salvador
2- Idea of itinerary : we look for variety, nice cities and landscapes, beaches, snorkeling, horse riding...
3- We intend to go to Pantanal, but is it a good idea in december, and if yes, where is the best city to go at this time of the year, suggestions of itineraries there will be welcome too !
4- We would like to go by car from fortaleza to salvador, do you think it's a good idea (easy to travel, roads conditions... ?), how long you think it's going to last (without rushing, with time enough to see properly most of the point of interests). Have you car rental companies to recommend ?
5- Iguazu : have you special advice (accomodation, tour...)

...and we will probably have many other questions when we'll carry on preparing this trip. Thank you in advance for your help !

1) Rio accomodations: www.homesinrio.com
2) Go to Jericoacoara, 5 car hours north from Fortaleza, you will never forget it: http://www.jericoacoara.com/
4) Go by bus, there are lots of connections, it is cheap and much safer.
5) One total day for the brasilian part, one total day for the argentina part, both are spectecular. The brasilian part you can easily make by yourself. When you go to the argentina part book a tour, it is difficult to go by your own.
