What's companies should I look at for travel insurance? I am travelling for 5 months SEA, AUS, NZ. I intend on doing all the adventure sports on offer. Sta quoted me £150 but it only covers me up to the 14th June so my last two weeks on the South Island wouldn't be covered.
How does this sound?
You could try looking at Direct Travel Insurance, they seem to cover most adventure sports and have varying degrees of cover depending on your budget ranging from £57 to £100 for 6 months stay.
Its very reasonably priced but if I have an accident on a moped or rafting/skydiving I won't be covered so I need something more geared towards adventure travel. Thanks for the suggestion though.
i always buy a policy called travmed global through medexassist. its a cheap policy and it is offered to non-americans (most of the policies are for americans). they do have some other options as well. the only thing they don't cover is mountaineering and all-terrain vehicle accidents. it does cover scuba diving. the policy is pretty cheap too. you would have to specify the sports you want to have covered to be clear though.
Did you try the insurance on Travelers Point? Over on the left hand column.
global.ihi.com are a member of Bupa for medical insurance for UK residents, when I checked them out they seemed quite cheap and offered good services.
I notice some of the policys only offer medical, nothing for lost or stolen goods. Something to look out for!
