This thread is marked as being about Australia

I'm travelling australia for about 6 months starting in January.
Not planning on staying in any one place for too long. Is it difficult to get casual work if you are only going to be in a place for a few weeks.

Hello ! I'm in sydney RIGHT NOW! ( IT's fantastic by the way) I got here three weeks ago, and found a job fairly easily I really recommend getting on the net before you leave and emailing off CV's even for casual work. Be honest in your CV and say you're only looking for a couple of months and say you're flexible, and you should be ok, tiny word of warning though, I've been told that the big cities kind of go into a slump after Christmas and there's not much work around, so get your Cv's off now! got me a great job temping in an office, and it's worthwhile registering online with as many recruitment agencies as you can!
Good Luck!

Thanks for the advise. Do you know if much experience is needed for bar work, or if its easy work to get? Just don't want to have to do office work, cause i'm doing it now and i'm dying to get away from it.

hi Jo, you need an RSA cert to work in a bar here, and they're very strict about it, RSA is Responsible Serving of Alcohol. Check on the net on how to get it cos I'm not sure, but I think restaurant work is easy enough to find.
