Selling a car/van bought in Canada to sell in New York??????

Hi, a friend and I are planning to buy a car or van in Vancouver and drive it East over 4 weeks ending up in New York in September. We plan to sell the car/van once we get to New York.

Can anyone tell me the rules for selling a foreign car in New York and a good place to advertise it etc? We won't have a lot of time so are wondering if it would be better to do this via a dealer?

Any tips/advice would be appreciated!

You have to make sure the car you buy has the safety/emission standards of the USA and New York. If you don't have alot of time, I think you're asking for trouble.
