Bali Accomodation

Hi folks,

I'm trying to be romantic and spring a last minute surprise for the gf and take her to bali on v-day weekend. And yes I'm intending to propose....

and yes, I know I left it till really late to plan...

So the big qns is, does anyone have any nice place to intro?

Not too expensive please. I've saw a couple of really nice place but its like 400USD

I'm looking for something around 100+ / 200 max

My wife and I have been staying at the Rama Beach Resort in Tuban for the past 8-12 trips to Bali since 1991.
Had the pool villa last time (September last year) and very nice.
Not too expensive but totally enclosed by walls, your own pool and the facilities were excellent.
Have pics of lovely room and pool on my profile.
Only 5 minutes from the airport and our favourite restaurant the Pantai is a 5 minutes walk to the beachfront.
Will be staying there (ordinary room this time from Feb 11th to Feb 15th) next week before heading for the Pasola Festival on Sumba.

I think the cost of a pool villa is about $150 USD on their website at the moment.
Well away from central Kuta but still within walking distance.
Some very nice restaurants on Jalan Kartika which leads to Kuta and plenty of shopping places close by

I recommed going to Gili Air if you go to Bali, a short boat trip away from Padang Bai.
Its heaven on earth and the bungalows are about 4 dollars a night, far more romantic then an expensive closed in villa in Bali in my opinion. Gili really is paradise.

Completely agree - Gili Air is a paradise and an amazing place to propose! Gili Meno, the next island is so quiet and there is barely a sole there - you'll pretty much have the island to yourself. All depends on how long you have though, as is a bit of a trek to get there from Bali (about 7 hours if I remember rightly). If you need to stay on Bali, there are some really nice guest houses in Ubud, which is a small and beautiful arty town surrounded by rice fields - google and see what comes up!

thanks all for your advice and well wishes! Sadly I got suckered by my friend to book Sofitel Seminyak. He said its really really nice. So hopeful its good.

Any suggestions of a nice restaurant to pop the qns?
I'm only doing a 2 days trip there...so anywhere else outside the vicinity is quite impossible...though gili air sounds lovely but I doubt I have the time!
