How do I live in Canada, after living in the tropics?

Hi there

I have lived all of my life in the Philippines for 32 yrs, 3 years of which I lived in Hundred Islands where the weather is if not Hot, then its just pretty warm. Its a place where we can wear tanktops and shorts all year long. I'm about to move to Saskatchewan, Canada for work this coming March. If there is anyone from that area, could you please tell me about the weather and what im supposed to bring. My clothes are pretty much for the summer. You see, I have no idea how the weather is, although I'm Pretty sure its damn cold
If anyone could please help me on what to expect, I could really use the help.

What part of Saskatchewan will you be moving to? The Prairies are always really cold in the winter because they're so flat, but they're reputed to be very pretty in the summertime.

The weather will be fairly nice in the summer, but absolutely freezing in the winter. You will need total winter gear ie. winter jacket, boots, mitts, hat, etc. but you could just get that all when you got here, especially if you came in a season other than winter.

It is cold for us, when we have lived here all our lives!

hello there...

i'll be moving to candle lake, i'lll be working for candlelake golf resort as a chef... we've told that it gets really cold there...
im kinda nervous about moving there actually, i know it will be very hard to adjust to very cold weather but im also lookimg forward to experiencing snow and winter for the very first time....

oh wow my whole family pretty much lives in saskatoon but i live in washington. the summer is pretty hot ther and dry but the winter is freezing. i went up in the winter once when i was like 4 it was so cold my whole face got chapped! i felt like that one kid from a christmas story who can barley even move after all the layers. plus i never wantedd to walk because it was so cold so i always had my dad hold me inside his jacket. its always below 0 there in the winter.

you can keep your shorts for the summer but get some reallly warm stuff for the winter. after awhile im sure you'll adjust but it will still be cold.

the half of fall and spring that are closer to summer are pretty warm as well. theres pretty much only 2 seasons up there: winter and summer
