Travel Forums Wiki Travel Guide New: Tables

Ok, spent a bit of time today plugging away to get tables working in wiki. You can see it in use in the Oceania article.

The code format is pretty much exactly the same as documented on Wikipedia, but only the most basic part of it.

One problem that can occur with the tables is that it might drop under the right hand navigation if it is too big. It can also float to the left of a photo if it is too small. You'll have to try to get a feel for that. Not a huge amount I can do about that, except warn against the danger :)

Anyway, I haven't documented it anywhere on the guide yet, but thought I'd let a few of you play around with it if you care to, so it's live :)

  • Oh, and just hit refresh when you get to viewing the wiki (your browser is likely to have cached the CSS used to render it and it looks kind of crap!)

Sweet; this will be very useful for weather charts and the like! That problem with the right hand navigation we can tackle in a redesign of those pages. There's a few other issues that come about because of that!

Cheers for the work!

I had a look at the changes, it seems easy with the signs etc, but could there be some more explanation in the wikiguide itself, under the ABOUT section somewhere?

Thanks!

Yes of course. I've just added the information in the About:AAAAh! Code for dummies article.
