there are certain places in the philippines that fall on the typhoon path and shud be avoided during typhoon season. but typhoon in august is not as frequent as say in november, december and january. devastating typhoons usually occur on november and december. places that are safe during this season include cebu, bohol, negros, and yes palawan.

am from cebu city and can safely say that we dont have typhoons in august. yes it rains but rains dont pour more than 2 hrs on a day and dont rain the whole week. philippines is not among the wettest places on earth so u dont need to be afraid of rain. it doesnt rain the whole week continuously anyway and u dont keep going out the whole time anyway.

so august is fine when u come here.

rezerind must be kidding. umbrella might be helpful during rainy season but definitely not a smart way to get rid of strong winds or even heavy rains. ud find ur umbrella getting blown out of shape for sure! the best tool for rainy and typhoon season is a good water-proof raincoat or winter coat with hood.
