I am planning to travel to Cuba this summer for three weeks. I would be travelling solo, could anyone say whether this would be recommended as an experience, and whether I would be safe.

Hi, Hope my response is not too late.

I can say Cuba is very safe country for turists. I think you just need to take usual precautions to avoid bad situations like stealing your camera etc.
I have not travelled alone but with 2 friends (all of us female) and we had no problem at all with people. Nobody harassed us or tried to steal anything.
However take care of people offering you to exchange money on the street - there are different type of pesos, they exchange rate is like 1 to 25

Anyway in terms of personal security is ok, police is nice and helpful. And people are opened and interested in news from external world. Hope you will enjoy the travel.

If you are travel solo, it is not unsafe but you should take more care about your language & even all the things.
