When the sun is at its point to go under (when it looks orange), do you think it will harm your eyes?

I was told ( I am not an MD and will take no responsibility for anything you do) that the reason people are advised not to look at an eclipse is because your pupils dilate when the sun is covered, the longer the eclipse, the more the dilation. So when the sun passes out from behind the moon you receive alot of light directly onto your retina. This can cause problems.

So I don't think there is a problem if you are looking at it, but I wouldn't stare.

they were selling those welding glasses everywhere, why dont people just use that.

I watched Solar Eclipse in shanghai on July 22rd. However, I am not lucky as raining weather in shanghai. -snip- It is great day with a big disappoint though.
