...After successfully navigating back out of the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal (thanks to Michael and his work-related way of having all of the canal stoplights turn green at just the right moment), the pirate ship and it's crew are sailing the open sea. "Head north - north to Alaska", comes a voice. "Ummmm, we're not going that far." Captain, you said head north and Alaska is the only place that came to mind." "Sorry, we're headed to a more strange and mysterious place than Alaska." As the crew sailed to it's next destination, the crew entertained themselves with counting the icebergs that passed by... "Captain, I think we're going in circles." "No way, we're headed in a straight line." "Captain, I beg to differ... It's the third time in a row that polar bear has waved at me. He's even got a hungry smile on his face." With that Captain Isa heads off and finds that they have been going in circles. No wonder she feels a bit seasick. Replacing the navigator, the ship is now in direct sight of it's destination. "Captain! We've finally found Iceland!!" "No, you haven't." "Yes, we have." "No, that's Surtsey." "No, it's not." "Yes, it is. See the sign that says Only Scientificky People Allowed? Besides, Iceland is populated with people." "No, it's not." "Yes, it is" "Is not." "Is too. It has 319,756 residents." But before Captain Isa could prove her point, the ship pulls into a Reykjavík harbor pier. After seeing a rather metropolitan city, a small voice pipes up, "You win."
Upon disembarking, the crew "tune up" for the next big musical number (yeah, you all know the routine by now)...
There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times, and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you
Come on now
Let's all celebrate and have a good time
We gonna celebrate and have a good time
It's time to come together
It's up to you, what's your pleasure
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's hoping you have a wonderful day (February 11th) filled with friends, family, someone special, soaking in the natural hot springs, eating cake, drinking lots and lot of martinis (or rum -take your pick) and pressie galore!!!!!
...With that, Captain Isa heads off to find one of those hot springs or maybe the Reykjavik Shooting Association (as the navigator may need to be shot if this misdirection thing keeps up). Hopefully, she'll avoid choosing the Great Geysir as it looks a bit treacherous... Never know - might feel good on these achy bones...
