Hi di ho folks
I am looking at starting a rtw trip next march (2010). I think i's like to start in india and then just head east, bob north and south for a few months on the continent and then head to NZ, on to South America, up to North america and Canada then over to North Africa heading south to a finish point in South africa a year later. Am a 29 year old female and wil be doing some of it on my own, some of it with friends who will bob into and out of my travels. Has someone donw a full year and able to give me a realistic view of the numbers involved? From initial research - i see there are loads of different types of tickets for rtw trips but the average is about £2000.
Any one got any thoughts?
check out STA travel, they are the gurus on RTW trips. they have trip plannings and sample itineraries online too. I know with most RTW tix u can't backtrack so make sure your always moving further on in each leg, if you need to go off course just do it with overland trips and save your flights for big bits of travel.
I used a chap called Andrew at STA. Bit more (by like £5). I neverr met the chap and it he doesn't try what so ever to sell to you. They say salesman sell mainly to salesman. I ended up parting for £2500.
Fantastic though! You have an amazing trip it sounds. Shame I can't advise on all of it.
Flight Centre is another option.
Check the seasons will be ok when you travel and watch for travel in India!
