What is as affordable and fun as Thailand in Latin America?
I know Thai culture is so different. But I am talking about Urban bangkok, touristic places, the cheap beers, street food, the sleazy stuff included. What is the closest thing to Bangkok or Thailand (if it has beaches).
Street markets, great food, Khaosan road, and English language schools, lady boys, and cheap accomodations. (political instabilty, not included).
almost the same standard of living... value for money.
I recommend Buenos Aires. With a US dollar:Argentine peso ratio of 1:3.45, it's not as cheap as Thailand. But if you're looking for an urban environment, tourist attractions, street markets, amazing steak, English language schools and "trasvestis," Buenos Aires has it all.
[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]
I think you're looking for Guyana....But more on the beaten track, I would say Colombia....(I know Dude, I know....but I just gotta tell the truth) Beer is sixty cents. There are many wonders to see in land and on the water, and the tourists haven't really found it yet en masse.
I like the sound of Colombia... but is it safe there... well if foreigners live there, then I would assume it is.
Swept, I lived there for a year and never saw anything but kindness....That said, it is second for murders IN THE WORLD...but that is all each other. They do still have kidnappings there....but for people who look like they can turn some coin....SO if you are going dressed like Mr T and with a Rolex, I would look elsewhere. Also. Don't do any longterm camping in the Darien Gap
Well, if a country is always in the top 10 of the miss Universe, its either it has a war, drug problems or some foreign policy issue with the US.
So I guess in the case of Colombia its the crime rate. But you said you live there for a year... does it help if you look Latino?
I am just toying with the idea of leaving Asia for Latin America this year.
