Because there is more to life than Manchester, and the thought of coming to my same job every day going to the same bars every weekend drives me up the wall!!! To have fun, get experience and figure out what the hell i'm on this earth for!!! :)

I have to agree life is to short to spend in bars in London, and doing the same old day after day...work...sleep...work...go out....work...boring.

Next stop Sydney!

I'm of the opinion that the majority of mid-life crises occur because someone settled down too quickly, and they didn't allow themselves an adventure or pursuit of a dream before rushing into a life of responsibilities/adulthood.

So I'm trying to avoid that.

Also, when I have kids, I want to have one hell of a story.

I am doing it because there is more to life than the town I live in !!

Meet new people, see new places and finally have an adventure!

Going Brisbane on my own in 3 weeks for a year and cannot wait!

The main reason is for no regrets when you are older, once you have more responsibilites on your shoulders it is harder to do. I'm 26, no mortgage, no kids, good job. I can always get another job when i get back.

Because I want to shape my life into one that I can be satisfied with, and because I love having memories that, upon being remembered, cause me to smile or laugh uncontrollably (This is especially fun in public places).

Also because I cannot imagine having a life that adhered to the typical school->school->work->retire->die archetype. I'd find that so boring.

Also because I work currently with Alzheimer's patients, and that makes me value my youth and my time even more.

i travel because i want to runaway from my normal life. everybody wants to be unique. travelling is one way to be more special than your peers.

anyway, travelling is fun and can broaden one's horizon and knowledge. if you are stuck in your own society, you cant progress in terms of experience
