Another antarctica cruise ship is sinking...

Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Another antarctica cruise ship is sinking...

After last year's sinking of the MS Explorer, another ship is going down. The Ocean Nova, operated by Quark Expeditions, run aground off the coast of the seventh continent. There are 106 people on board, among the passengers and crew were: 21 Americans, 18 Filipinos, 17 Britons, seven Canadians, seven Australians, four Germans, five Irish, five South Africans, three Dutch, three New Zealanders, three Danish, two Argentines and one each from Switzerland, Romania, Ukraine, Panama, Guatemala, Colombia, Russia, Indonesia and Honduras. No casualties.

Doesn't put me off the idea of going down there. I still want to go.

"Sinking" is a pretty big word here, seeing as how "There is no damage to the hull" and "the ship should be able to break free on its own as the tide rises."

And yeah, one of these trips is rising ever higher on my list of "must do" activities as well.

This is slightly off-topic, but the sinking ship reminds me of this video...

Alright, I will admit that the title is inaccurate. I posted quite quickly, as I was just taking a quick break. I should have capitalized Antarctica as well.

What was I sinking?

Not capitalizing Antarctica could be grounds for thread deletion... At least you spelled it correctly... (I may have to check with the Moderator of Grammar and see what she thinks.)

Would love to go to Antarctica but it has stuff like snow... And ice... I can see that just by looking out of my window. (Not Antarctica's snow and ice but snow and ice in general.) Okay, rarely does a penguin cruise through so it's got that goin' for it.

Isa wanders off to find Tway and returns this thread to it's originally scheduled topic.
