I stayed at the Wang Fat Hostel. It was $30 USD a night for a double. It was clean and in a good location. It was the cheapest I could find.

Hi all,
This more a statement than anything but having recently stayed in Wang Fat Hostel I would just like to point out that, in my personal opinion, this place is very overrated.
Ok, the rooms are actually not bad but I definitely had some nocturnal visitors of the rodent kind and that is in both rooms I had as I moved to try and avoid these unwelcome visitors.
The staff, you really have to press him sometimes for information as he just tells you the bare minimum and not the whole story with regards to tours etc.
Admittedly though the tours run are good values. The rest of the staff I found mostly uninterested and verging on rude.
Yes I know this is just my opinion as I may have just had an "unlucky" stay but feel it one I have to voice.
So, I propose you differents address
Single Room 140 HKD per night, clean with AC and TV.
It’s an alternative to the Chungking & Mirador Mansions, grim and filthy generally, bad security and repeated hassling by suit, copy watch etc. sellers, outside hotel.

In Guesthouse
In 2 stars hotel
Or in Cheung Chow Island, more expensive
