Is this the same as the New Chung King Hostel? My friends stayed there two months ago and they said that the rooms are clean and spacious enough. Plus, the hostel is pretty cheap.

I was with my husband last month in HK and we stayed in a hotel. I want to be close to the shopping district.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

Well I have done it, I've stayed at Chungking Mansions and it was great! It's in a great location so I really enjoyed it. The touts at the door were slightly annoying, I had to be very firm with one guy who was physically trying to drag me to his hostel but as soon as I made it clear that he really should f*** off and leave me alone all the others got the hint too and so I was free to go to the hostel that I had already booked. I would definitely stay there again.

I'd stay here everytime, I hit HK.

Besides, it means I spent less time sleeping and more time out in the streets.
The place is sexy, sleazy, exotic, and dangerous (the look)...

All the races in the world in one roof, what could be sexier?

Quoting Swept Away

"But a man is not a traveller, until he has slept at the Chungking mansion."

This is one of my posts that got bumped up to the top via some some spam which has now been deleted ( I think) so I read it all again, and I have to say Swept Away's comment made me both laugh and give me an all knowing smirk at the same time. It's true, you do have to stay at Chungking Mansions (or some place equal to it) before you can really say that you have travelled.
