2 months in Belize.

Hello All,

I'm planning on going to Belize for a couple months from early April to mid June. If anyone wants to share favorite towns, or any advice about extended visits to Belize I would greatly appreciate it. I'm looking to stay in the same place for the entire time, smaller town prefered.

I would figure Placencia. by the water, but still access to other places around. If you don't care about the water so much, Dangriga is, or was, delightfully ramshackle.

I went to Belize some years back. A day was ample for me. I found some places to be run down but not in a "nice way". In Belize Town, though I had no problems, it didn't look like I was welcome there. Many who go to Belize stay on one of the islands (cays) off of the coast.

I went to Belize by myself for a month last June-July and stayed on the island of San Pedro. I absolutley fell in love with the place, the people, and the culture. If you want a worry-free two months of relaxation and live-and-let-live then go there. One can find accomodations costing from a little to a lot, depends on your preference. I rented an apartment on the beach right in the center of town and have no regrets at all. Ttook my 12 yr. old son back with me for a week in November and he loved it too. Good luck.
