I'm not surprised - during March you're apparently spending 8 days in Japan, 8 days in South Africa, and 9-10 days in India. That's quite someway to travel in a short period, each time for 8 days!

so many things to see in just 9 days. i would recommend u to visit the state of Rajasthan which has palaces, wildlife, etc.
U can consider visiting Jaipur, jodhpur and udaipur(for palaces), Ranthambhore(wildlife) and Pushkar(spiritual)

There are many things you can do in these 8-10 days in central india. most of the wildlife cencturies like Rranthambhore, bhandavgarh, jim corbet national park, and for meditation you can go to Haridwar, Rishikesh near jim corbet national park. Haridwar abd rusgujesg are the spritual center of india. You can do meditation and explore ghats of ghanges river.
There are many ashrams around and can visit gurus if you want to.

Debs,

Delhi, I'd say, is the place for you to experience the spirit of India when short on time. Spend 2-3 days in Delhi.
Go to Agra - visit the Taj and the Forts & Palaces. Spend a day or two.
Go up north to Jim Corbett National Park for some Wildlife experience.
For Meditation/Yoga, you can go to Haridwar or Rishikesh.

Let us know if you need more info.

Have a good one. :)

How about Delhi-Varanassi-Agra (incl Fatiphur Sikhri)-Delhi. Google Varanassi - it is a very, very special and spiritual place-stay in a room which overlooks the ganges. There are an abundance of yoga/meditation/reiki courses available there. There is literally loads to see and do in and around Delhi in terms of architecture. It would be an overnight train Delhi to Varanassi and again from Varanassi to Agra. Agra is few hours from Delhi by train. Fatiphur Sikhri is a few hrs by bus from Agra and definitely worthwhile. Agra is great for the Taj, but very intense, so only spend one night there. Wouldn't recommend Rajesthan as everything too far apart and Jaiphur is probably the worst city in the region but annoyingly the closest to Delhi (and it's still an overnight train!).

Maybe u got into one of the slower trains. If u catch the Shatabdi Express or other fast trains, u can reach Jaipur in 4-5 hours:)
