Came on here briefly in 2007 and then got sidetracked. I'm back and would
like to say hi to everyone. This is a great place...the folks here are friendly
and knowledgeable. I'm in the planning stages of a rtw in 2011. I have so
many places I want to see but am having a time figuring out an itinerary! It's
a bit overwhelming! Hopefully, I can get some good advice here! Nice to meet
you all!

Welcome back! Seriously, cool to have you here on Travellerspoint. I'm sure you'll be able to get plenty of advice for your RTW - quite a few others have made an RTW trip.

Cheers,
Eric

I did a RTW trip in 2007. Seriously, my top advice would be to have an idea of which region/countries you want to visit and take your time to soak in the culture/experience. Don't rush through it. Keep your plans and itinerary flexible, talk to locals and travelers in the area and decide from there.

My favourite regions and countries are East Africa (Uganda and Tanzania/Zanzibar) as well as New Zealand. If you go with the OneWorld RTW, take advantage of the LAN airlines there and visit Easter Island.

Check out my RTW 2007 travel blogs or send me a msg if you have any specific questions.
